A Future Height Calculator predicts how tall a child is likely to grow as an adult. Using the Mid-Parental Height Formula and growth data, it provides an accurate estimate of your child’s final height while considering gender differences and growth trends.

This tool helps parents track their child’s development and understand whether their growth rate is within a healthy range.

How It Works

  1. Enter your child’s current age and gender
  2. Input mother’s and father’s height
  3. Optionally, add the child’s current height
  4. Click Calculate Future Height

The calculator instantly estimates your child’s projected adult height and shows how it compares to the average height for their age and gender.

Formula Used

Future Height (boys)=(Father′sHeight+Mother′sHeight+13)2\text{Future Height (boys)} = \frac{(Father’s Height + Mother’s Height + 13)}{2}Future Height (boys)=2(Father′sHeight+Mother′sHeight+13) Future Height (girls)=(Father′sHeight+Mother′sHeight−13)2\text{Future Height (girls)} = \frac{(Father’s Height + Mother’s Height – 13)}{2}Future Height (girls)=2(Father′sHeight+Mother′sHeight−13)

(Heights in centimeters or inches)

This is the Mid-Parental Height Method, widely used by pediatricians and growth experts.

Example

If the father is 182 cm (6’0”) and the mother is 168 cm (5’6”),
Predicted future height for:

  • Boy: (182 + 168 + 13) / 2 = 181.5 cm (≈ 5’11.5”)
  • Girl: (182 + 168 − 13) / 2 = 168.5 cm (≈ 5’6.5”)
